It is often the case that the most forward-thinking designs in fashion—as in other art forms—are not completely novel, but pull and push past shapes, styles, and apparatuses in the service of something at once familiar and groundbreaking. Such is the approach of sought-after British designer Kim Jones. The Dior menswear designer continues a run of coveted sportswear collaborations, this time with Converse. With this new collaboration, a line of elevated sportswear-inspired apparel pieces accompanies the conceptually rich yet simple reimagining of the Chuck Taylor 70, in black and white.
The only pair of pants in this collaborative collection, the Converse x Kim Jones KJ Cargo Pant takes the classic cargo pant design, melding it with 90s-inspired details. Constructed from a cotton poplin fabric, this slim-fit pant features cargo-style patch pockets at the back with flap, concealed button fastening, and mesh lining. Snap buttons down the leg reveal mesh lining beneath, a playful reference to 90s sweatpants. Here in the iris/navy colourway, these pants also feature two side slant pockets; zip fly and button closure; and Kim Jones branding in silvertone screen-printed on the back.
Made from 100% cotton.
