Since moving the label to Japan, Tokyo-based Boys Co Ltd have reinvigorated Danton, inflecting inherited 20th-century French workwear shapes in a contemporary Japanese idiom. Many of the label’s most recent collections riff on the label’s workwear pedigree, playfully engaging notions of work and leisure.
Rather than taking from the more fitted shirtdresses of the 50s, with the Danton Women’s Long Shirt Dress 3727 in Navy Stripe, Danton have created a uniquely versatile piece via direct reference to the label’s own 20th-century workwear archives. Cut from crisp cotton poplin, this shirtdress features a club collar, front button closure, all-over navy stripe pattern, side seam pockets, shirt hem, button-fastened cuffs, and centre box pleat. May be worn as a dress or lightweight outer layer, with a shape easily transformed by a belt.
Made in Japan from 100% cotton.
