For Kowtow, ethical clothing does not simply mean more ethical supply chains, manufacturing, and labor conditions. Rather, such a commitment influences every aspect of the clothes that they make, including their designs. Against false notions of freedom, Kowtow embrace the restrictions of adhering to more ethical modes of design and production. The resulting garments are far from impeded, evincing everything from subtle elegance to structured grandiosity.
It’s unclear as to what the ‘paper’ of the Kowtow Paper Pant refers to; it could be the piece’s ‘paper bag’ waistband or the fabric from which it is crafted, a smooth and light tencel twill. Either way, there is no question that Kowtow put the former design element and the latter material to good use. Here in the rich ‘Mahogany’ colourway, these relaxed-fit, wide-leg pants feature a removable fabric belt, rounded front pockets, and one back jett pocket.
This piece is made in a transparent supply chain, with fair trade certified farmers and manufacturers from seed to garment. Made from 100% Lenzing® Tencel processed in Austria. Lenzing® Tencel is a natural and biodegradable fiber made using wood pulp from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests.
Model is 172cm and wears size XS.
