For Kowtow, ethical clothing does not simply mean more ethical supply chains, manufacturing, and labour conditions. Rather, such a commitment influences every aspect of the clothes that they make, including their designs. Against false notions of freedom, Kowtow embrace the restrictions of adhering to more ethical modes of design and production. The resulting garments are far from impeded, evincing anything from subtle elegance to structured grandiosity.
In their latest collection, the New Zealand label harness the power of block colours with floral patterns complementing the season’s lively palette. Colourful prints, frills, stripes, and quilting add focal details to understated outerwear pieces and shirts that subtly adjust established shapes.
One of two new quilted pieces from the New Zealand label, the Kowtow Quilt Vest comes in a striking green and white stripe colourway with welt pockets at the front and a crew neckline.
This piece is dyed with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) approved inks and dyes, and made in a transparent supply chain, with fair trade certified farmers and manufacturers from seed to garment.
Model is 175cm and wears size XS.
