The Collection
The most recent collection from Tokyo-based streetwear pioneers Neighborhood celebrates the label’s longstanding engagement with Japanese denim and American-inspired workwear, both as a history and practice. Rich in indigos even beyond the collection’s denim pieces, the season also presents a number of high-quality tees, both new styles and reinvigorated classics.
The Garment
The Neighborhood Combat C Shirt LS is a long sleeve shirt that combines military influences with Japanese denim patchworking traditions to striking effect. Constructed from olive drab and black sulfur-dyed cotton twill, the front of this season highlight appears as if split into asymmetrical quadrants. This shirt features an assortment of pockets across the front: two bellows pockets with flap and button closure; one diagonal bellows pocket with flap and button closure; and a unique design in which the upper chest panel also serves as the snap closure for a patch pocket with a partially concealed opening. This chest patch is embroidered with seasonal branding inspired by military specifications. Other features include contrasting elbow patches; front button closure with branded buttons; straight hem; and regular collar.
