Streetwear metabolizes sportswear-derived garments. While the basketball jersey may have had its day, turning to Europe for inspiration, the football (soccer) jersey has been a recent point of reference for streetwear labels across the world. Perhaps due to the sport’s connotations as an upper-class game of refined manners and etiquette, tennis apparel has never inspired adaptation to the street. Until now.
With the Tennis Shirt, here in the black colourway, Amsterdam-based label Patta have produced a unique sportswear-inspired garment that stakes out its own space off the court between a traditional polo shirt and a short-sleeved shirt. Cut from a lightweight, breathable cotton-poly blend fabric, the Tennis Shirt features a contrast ribbed polo collar, all-over pinstripe pattern, appliquéd Patta script logo patch on the chest, and front button closure with mother-of-pearl snap buttons.
Made from 68% polyester, 28% cotton, 4% elastane.
Model is 187cm and wears size L.
