Few 90s pop culture figures were as controversial as Marilyn Manson. Hailing from the southern state of Florida, Marilyn Manson, the band and its leading figure, drew the ire of conservatives across America for their sacrilegious lyrics that some claimed promoted drug-use and violence. At one point, three US states even passed legislation banning them from performing at state-owned venues.
Given their own propensity for courting controversy, it is easy to see why Alex James and Vlad Elkin, founders of LA-based label Pleasures, would be drawn to such a figure. This long-awaited collaboration represents the latest in a long line of collaborations with cult musicians.
The Pleasures x Marilyn Manson Smells T-Shirt in Black is a classic short sleeve tee cut from soft cotton jersey. This piece is dedicated to one of Marilyn Manson’s third album, “Mechanical Animals,” a rock opera that continued to deal with themes of drug use and the excesses of fame. This tee features the cover art for the album printed across the front and the album’s tracklisting on the back. Other features include a ribbed crew neckline.
Made from 100% cotton.
