With collections entitled ‘Stone(d) Age,’ ‘Cosmicdelic,’ and ‘lostspacepeople’ it is immediately clear that LA-based label PRMTVO are not of this world. In their short history, the young streetwear label have created an intoxicating aesthetic, taking cues from LA’s legendary skate culture, the DIY ethos of the city’s longstanding punk scene, and, of course, local & otherworldly histories & futures of psychedelics. Despite their supernatural and cosmic yearnings, the label is very much grounded in the place of its birth, with graphics that celebrate Californian cultural figures such from 60s underground comix great Rob Crumb to jazz composer David Alexrod, and, this season, one of the world’s most influential rock groups, The Doors.
As with many of their DIY streetwear predecessors, the humble t-shirt has long gifted PRMTVO the perfect canvas on which to showcase—or let run wild, rather—their psychedelic aesthetic. Here in black, the PRMTVO Doors of Perception Tee features a seasonal graphic across the chest. In trademark tongue-in-cheek style, the PRMTVO Doors of Perception Tee employs the logo of celebrated rock band The Doors for a slogan that serves as equal parts homage and iconoclasm: ‘opening the Doors of perception.’ The choice is yours. This regular-fit tee also features a ribbed crew neckline.
