Made in their factory in Koryo-cho, located in Nara prefecture, an area of Japan long renowned for its premium sock manufacturing thanks to the vintage sewing machines that have been steadily brought to the area from the USA over the last century. With such machines at their disposal, Rototo has gained a reputation for some of the finest socks in Japan, emphasizing premium yarns, comfort, and an unrestricted exploration of patterns and classic styles alike. The first Rototo season available at Double Double showcases the label’s versatility with animal print, colour blocking, and sports stripes making appearances across the range.
With their penchant for vintage sewing machines and meticulous production processes, it would be easy to assume that Rototo lack a sense of humour. The Rototo Pile Leopard socks put that misconception to rest, employing the craftspersonship for which they have become renowned in the service of one of the world’s most-loved—albeit it with an ambiguous combination of irony and earnestness—prints. Here in the beige colourway, this sock features an all-over leopard print, black heel and toe, and a beige cuff at the leg opening.
Made in Japan from 45% cotton, 45% acrylic, 7% polyester, 3% polyurethane.
