Frequent collaborators with Australian artists, Verner collections are highly conceptual, often poking and prodding at perceived notions of Australianness via a nuanced interplay between surface appearance and structural design. Like flocks of Melburnians fleeing their homes after isolation for to amass on nature strips across the city, entitled “Exterior Motives” this new Verner collection (Holiday 20/21) is replete with vivid patterns, high-contrast photographic prints, and hand-drawn imagery alluding to a yearning for spiritual truths.
Verner’s primary pattern for the “Exterior Motives” evinces the label’s affection for enhancing simple patterns with bold colour contrast and panelling. The Verner Stripe Lining Shirt Dress employs the pattern to striking effect, with horizontal green & black patches contrasted with vertical white and black appliqué patches. Constructed from soft, crisp cotton poplin, this loose-fitting, short-sleeved dress shirt features front pockets; tonal tie belt; split-level hem; open collar; and front button closure.
Made from 100% cotton.
